What is IFS (Internal Family Systems)?

A map to understand your inner world

IFS is an evidence-based therapy, widely recognized in the field of mental health. It is known for helping people experience greater connection, compassion, and clarity in their lives. Its approach is based on the idea that our mind is not a single entity but the sum of different parts working together. When we are able to listen to and understand these parts, a space opens up to heal the inner wounds that still hold pain from the past.

In IFS sessions, I guide you to explore your inner world safely and at the pace of your own system. The sessions can lead to states of deep calm, similar to meditation.

Benefits of IFS

  • Cultivate a more compassionate relationship with who you are.
  • Transform self-critical or reactive patterns.
  • Heal painful experiences from the past.
  • Increase resilience and emotional calm.
  • Move from anxiety, depression, or overwhelm to clarity and confidence.
  • Set healthy boundaries with greater ease.
  • Enhance inner harmony.

Many people find IFS deeply validating and empowering, offering insights that traditional talk therapy may not reach.

What are the sessions like?

One hour of inner exploration

Sessions last one hour and are done sitting with your eyes closed. During the session, I guide you while you share what you are experiencing. This therapy is quite different—it’s not about analyzing or debating anything, but about listening to what your inner system is communicating. That’s how we begin to enter the work.

A calm and safe process

Working with parts is slow and paced according to your rhythm. As we go deeper, your internal system determines the level of openness it wants to work with. Everything is welcome. IFS is considered one of the safest tools for working with traumatic experiences.

Online sessions

We work from wherever you are

IFS sessions are held entirely online, via video call. Since the work is internal (with eyes closed and attention directed inward), whether the session is in person or online does not affect its quality or depth.

Working from home has its advantages: you can be in a familiar and comfortable environment, and there is no need to travel or manage commuting time.

Many clients find that this supports the integration of what unfolds during the session.

I currently work with people from countries such as the United States, the United Kingdom, Canada, and Spain.

Sessions are 60 minutes long and cost €50. If you would like to get to know each other before deciding, I offer a free 20-minute initial consultation.

In this first conversation you can tell me what’s brought you here, with no commitment, ask me anything you’d like to know, and notice whether you feel you want to work with me.

If you would like to meet at a different time or have any other questions, you can contact me through the form.

Frequently asked questions

In conventional therapy, you talk about what you feel. In IFS, you enter into a direct relationship with what you feel: we explore your inner parts with your eyes closed and your attention turned inward. This allows access to layers that rational analysis often cannot reach.

Your inner system always sets the pace and how far it wants to go. If you have doubts, the free 20-minute consultation is a good space to explore them without any commitment.

No. IFS is helpful for anyone who wants to better understand their inner world, whether they have lived through difficult experiences or simply notice repeating patterns or wish to live with more clarity and calm.

Many clients notice something different from the very first sessions. Deeper changes emerge gradually, as parts are heard and understood. There is no fixed timeline: IFS respects the pace of each system.

Yes, IFS is compatible with other therapeutic processes and psychiatric treatments. If you are working with another professional, it is advisable that they know, but it is not an obstacle to starting. If you have questions about your specific situation, we can discuss it in the initial free consultation.

I offer sessions in all three languages. You can write to me or book in whichever language you feel most comfortable with.

Online sessions last one hour and cost €50. I also offer 90-minute online sessions for €75.
